I Have a Confession..

“I am a Bible study drop-out. A delinquent. A slacker.

Don’t get me wrong. I always start with the best of intentions. But all the studies are designed the same way. The first step is watching a 20+ minute video, which despite its great content, my mind wanders to my to do list and which kid needs sneakers for gym the next day.

Then you break into groups. I love this, except the questions revolve around the video and the homework from the week before. Which brings me to the final nail in my coffin.  Five days of homework a week!

Full Disclosure

I struggle to find a consistent time built into my day, where I get into the Word. Some days the best I do is a three minute devotional app that I read while applying mascara in my cramped bathroom. Not exactly Spirit filled moments, especially if my husband was in there moments before!

But the beginning of any new Bible study, I really try.  The first two days I dig into the homework, so proud of myself. Then the third day, life happens, and I convince myself I’ll catch up tomorrow.

The second week doesn’t get any better and by the third week, I am so far behind I show up, smile, and nod a lot. Add in the nights I miss because my kids have practice, and I am completely in the drop-out zone!

Why am I telling you this?  

Part of my journey to reclaim my joy, faith and laughter was to dig into the Word.  I decided to lead a bible study. I went to the store to search for the perfect one. Rows of great topics, gifted authors, but all the same format.  Video, discussion, five days a week of homework.

I started to feel anxious. My palms started to sweat.  I could feel the defeat building in me before we even started.

And then it hit me.  What I needed was the couch to 5K for Bible Studies.  I needed to build up to the level where I was in the Word each day. When you train to run your first 5K, you don’t start running five days a week. You build slowly. Develop your core and then push further.

But search as I might, this type of study didn’t exist.  So I created one and led 27 amazing women through it.  It was life-changing for me. And it made me think, I know there are lots of mamas out there, just like me, who are searching for this.

What is B-Study on the Go?

A Bible Study you Can do Anytime, Anywhere

A six week, interactive Bible study, you can easily do anytime and anywhere. We will all be taking the journey at the same time, so you will connect online with other mamas who know just how crazy motherhood can be.

Learn

On Monday of each week, you will receive access to three videos that provide a humorous and thought provoking look into the theme for that week.   You can watch them anytime, anywhere on your phone, tablet or laptop.  Each video is five minutes in length, making it simple to watch on the run.

dig deeper

Each week you will also be given access to your Digging Deeper worksheets. Don’t panic! We will start slow.  The first week we will have one worksheet and we will slowly build our core to three assignments by week six. The questions will help you explore the topic further and dig deeper into your personal journey.

The worksheets are in .pdf form. Simply print out and work through at your own pace or view the .pdf on your device and write your thoughts in a journal. No book needed. There will be bonus materials for those mamas who have already been working to build their spiritual core, making this study perfect for everyone!

Connect

You will be given access to a private Facebook group. Each week, I will post questions about our weekly lessons.  You will be able to share your thoughts and ask questions of your own.  It’s an incredible way for us to connect, encourage and get to know one another. We’ll compare wacky, mama moments, share joys and struggles and lift each other in prayer.  Oh and we’ll laugh. A lot!

This Ain’t Your Mama’s Bible Study

If you have your life perfectly in order, keep your house meticulously organized and never raise your voice under any circumstance, then this is probably not the Bible study for you.

But, if you on occasion have felt hoarse after yelling, “get your shoes on” for the fifth time and have days where you put the eggs in the pantry and the crackers in the freezer, then mama, I hope you sign up.  We were meant to be best friends!

♥  I don’t have a Facebook account.  Can I still participate in the study?   Absolutely, you can still participate in the study.  The videos and digging deeper worksheets will be delivered via your e-mail account and on a private membership site. However, the private Facebook group is a tremendous resource and allows you to intertact with all the other women going through the study along with you.  This is where we will get to know one another. Share stories. Laugh. Support. Uplift.  If you want to get the most of this experience, the Facebook page is an essential piece.  Our Facebook group is a private page that no one beyond our group can access. You can simply set-up an account to be a part of the study and delete your account after the six weeks, if you desire.

♥ Is there a cost to participate in the study?  B-Study on the Go is similar to enrolling in an online e-course. Instead of buying a bible study book and video, you pay a one-time enrollment fee and you are given access to a private membership site, all the course materials (including videos to view on any device, Digging Deeper worksheets, and journal pages), entry to the private Facebook group and surprise bonuses along the way.
